Our pupils have started an Identity Project combining Art, Citizenship, Catalan and English Language.
INTRODUCTION AND MAIN GOAL
The main goal of the Project is helping pupils to know better their identity, the way they are and the aspects that make them different from other children, not only in their local area, but also in an European context. We want to reinforce their awareness of being European citizens.
ACTIVITIES
0. In an Art lesson the whole class will build a time capsule.
1. Children must do a document including a photo, they must think and choose a word that identify themselves and their favourite object and they have to give a short explanation of the reason why they have chosen them. They are going to be in contact with a pupil of the other country by e-mail and they would exchange their documents. The files are going to be printed and exhibited in the VoiceS Corner of the lobby in each school.
2. Pupils must do a similar document, but this time they are going to talk about what do they want to be when they are older. They have to give a short explanation. They have to insert a photo of their favourite job.
3. After that, we are going to record small videos of our pupils explaining their contribution to the Time capsule. They would send their videos using google drive and sharing them withanother European studentfrom the Comenius partner school.
That way, through e-mailsstudentswill have the chance of discoveringnew friendsthousands of miles away from them, but with a lot of resemblances to share.
4. Each class in their own country could establish an appointment ten years from now to reopen the Time Capsule and realize how their identity and expectations have finally turned up.
